Joseph P. Craven DDS
Dr. Joseph Craven was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio where he was his high school’s first state swimming champion in the 100 butterfly and an Eagle Scout. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in biology and a business minor where he was also on the varsity swim team. Dr. Craven earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.
He completed his internship in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Craven’s comprehensive residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery was completed at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received a broad scope of training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery with an emphasis on sedation and anesthesia, dental implants, facial trauma, benign head and neck pathology, orthognathic surgery, and temporomandibular joint surgery. He served as chief resident in the final year of his residency training.
He is board-certified in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In addition to private practice, he is an adjunct assistant professor, helping teach oral surgery residents at The Ohio State University and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Craven and his wife have made Columbus their home. When he is out of the office, he enjoys running, weight lifting, hiking, playing guitar, and spending time with his wife and their child.
