Dr. Smeltzer is originally from Northwest Ohio. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Bowling Green State University and graduated with honors from The Ohio State University College of Dentisty (DDS, 1995). Dr. Smeltzer continued his postgraduate training at The Ohio State University, completing his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency and earning his masters degree. In 2001, Dr. Smeltzer completed the rigorous board certification process and became a diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Since 1999, Dr. Smeltzer has maintained a full scope oral and facial surgery practice in central Ohio. In addition to his private practice, he also holds an assistant clinical professorship with the Ohio State University Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery where he teaches future oral surgeons.

Dr. Smeltzer is currently on staff at OSU Medical Center, Riverside Methodist, St. Ann's, Grant and Grady Memorial hospitals. He is also one of only a handful of oral and facial surgeons who maintains privileges and actively treats patients at Children's Hospital of Columbus. He is involved in managing all aspects of oral and facial surgery with a special interest in dental implant surgery and surgery for the pediatric and adolescent population.

Dr. Smeltzer resides in Powell with his wife and 4 children, Madison, Morgan, Amanda, & Grant. He is actively involved in numerous dental & oral surgery organizations including executive committee of the Ohio Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and a charter member of the Greater Columbus Society of Contemporary Dentistry. When away from his practice, Dr. Smeltzer enjoys golf, sporting events, travel, and working with his church youth groups.

 
Dr. Masonbrink was born and raised in Canton, Ohio. He attended Miami University where he received a B.A. in Chemistry. In 2002 he graduated magna cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry with a D.D.S. Following dental school, he entered a four year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at OSU. During the program, Dr. Masonbrink spent two months rotating at St. James Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, and time doing mission work in Honduras. After completion of residency, he received a M.S. in Dentistry.

Dr. Masonbrink participates as an assistant clinical instructor at the OSU oral & maxillofacial surgery program. Dr. Masonbrink is a member of the American Dental Association as well as both the Ohio and American Associations of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

When not at work, Dr. Masonbrink enjoys mountain biking, traveling, and fishing. His wife Laura is a librarian at Ohio Dominican University. Currently, Dr. Masonbrink resides in Clintonville with his wife and son, Ian.
